IFOM-inStem Joint Research Laboratory

Research in the Jamora lab is focused on understanding the intercellular crosstalk between multiple cells within an organ that drive tissue repair following injury. Using wound healing in the mouse skin as a model system, the Jamora lab utilizes an interdisciplinary approach to understand how chemical and mechanical cues regulate the inflammatory, proliferative, and remodeling phases of the wound-healing program. Insights gained from these studies are applied to diseases such as diabetes, cancer, and other inflammatory pathologies where this wound healing process is perturbed.
