Lecture Series in Advanced Biology

This initiative is a part of the NCBS outreach programme. The postdoctoral community of NCBS and InStem have been organizing annually a certified course for undergraduates on advanced topics in biology, essentially consisting of a lecture series here on campus. The purpose of the lectures is to introduce the selected group of students to research oriented learning, which includes specially crafted classes involving interactive lectures, journal clubs and activity sessions. Course content is developed by the teachers around a theme that uses the expertise of the teachers and would also introduce students to contemporary research topics. By the end of the lecture series, the students will have a view of the actual science in a laboratory beyond their textbooks. Over the last years, the lecture series have reached out to substantial number of young intellectuals from various colleges of Bangalore and outside.

Getting to NCBS

From IISc, Malleshwaram: Take the free shuttle to inStem/NCBS (timings are here)

We are located in the UAS, GKVK campus on Bellary road. There is a BMTC stop right outside the GKVK gate. Most buses going to the airport or Yelahanka that ply on Bellary Road make a stop here. However, the walk to NCBS is about 2Kms from the GKVK gate and transport/autos do not typically like to come inside.
