One-stop solution for fundamental and applied research. Assays include insecticide susceptibility, repellent/attractant characterization, vector development and physiology, host-parasite/pathogen interactions, life history studies, population dynamics, behavioral genetics, ecological interactions, etc.
The insectary aims to provide support to Indian researchers with a state-of-the-art containment facility.
The highlights of the facility are,
- Mosquito rearing facility - A national-level resource center for major mosquito vector species of India with a unique blend of supporting biological, molecular, and bio-informatic research activities.
- Parasite culture facility - Evaluation of any drug discovery programs/ assays.
- Insect Transformation Facility- Transformation among diverse insect pests and vectors of economic importance.
