Advt No.18/2019 : Research Technologist for Centre of Excellence funded position

Research Technologist for Centre of Excellence funded position

A grant funded position is open for a research technologist at inStem, to develop and lead mass-spectrometry based metabolomics platforms within the Regulation of Cell Fate theme at inStem.   The position is funded by a DBT-CoE grant awarded to laboratories in the RCF theme.

 Key Responsibilities:

-Work closely with RCF theme investigators to streamline metabolomic platforms within the theme. The theme PIs have rich experience in mass spectrometry based analytical studies using in vitro and in vivo models (refer theme publications)

- Develop new, and apply existing/developed methods on HPLC-MS/MS for the global measurement of metabolites and metabolic fluxes.

-Collaborate with biologists and train students/postdocs in inStem to developing standardized protocols, experimental design and sample preparation from mammalian cells, tissues and biofluids.

-Data analysis, annotation, report preparation using commercial data integration, pathway analysis and visualization software.

-Attend and participate closely in RCF theme activities, including group and theme meetings and discussions.
-Unprecedented opportunity to work in theme based research environments, working closely with multiple systems, and individuals.

 Requirements:

A PhD in a relevant scientific discipline with a strong background in analytical chemistry. Prior hands-on experience in managing and using HPLC and mass spectrometry for small molecules and/or peptides is required. Flexibility in prior experience will be given in assessing the overall suitability of the candidate. Previous laboratory experience in biochemistry is preferred as is a strong interest to develop new analytical methods is required. Candidates will be assessed based on their hands-on expertise in analytical chemistry. Candidates must be self-motivated and collaborative.

To be considered, please submit your application, cover letter describing your research background focusing on analytical chemistry abilities, a CV and names, current position and email contacts  of two individual references to rbharath@instem.res.in .
