Research Interest
Cell surface is encapsulated by a dense array of glycans (carbohydrates) covalently attached to proteins and lipids (glycoprotein and glycolipid).Several lines of evidence suggest that glycans contain biological information essential for cell-cell, cell-matrix, host-pathogen and receptor-ligand interaction. Using planarians as the model system we take a systems approach to study the role of glycans in regeneration.
